Homeowners and Businesses in Burnaby have slowly been adopting renewable energy solutions over the past decade. Home Solar energy panels have become more widely available and affordable, making it a wise choice for homeowners looking to save on energy costs.

Burnaby’s residents and businesses receive the entirety of their electricity and natural gas from provincially regulated energy utilities. BC Hydro, the sole distributor of electricity in the province, meets the city’s electricity needs, while FortisBC is Burnaby’s regulated supplier of natural gas.

As a company we are deeply passionate about the movement towards sustainable home energy systems. Our team of Green Energy experts can help install both Solar systems and EV charging stations at home and at commercial spaces anywhere in the city.

At the provincial level, Close to 95% of BC’s electricity is generated from renewables. Its renewable capacity is more than 16 000 MW, representing approximately 90% of total installed capacity, according to Canada Energy Regulator

The province has a legislative commitment in the Clean Energy Act that 66% of BC Hydro’s future incremental power demand must be met through conservation by 2020. Vancouver, BC largest city is also home to the most of the largest provincial energy operator BC Hydro, who generates over 43,000 gigawatt hours of electricity annually to supply more than 1.6 million residential, commercial and industrial customers.

At the consumer level, we’ve also seen shift toward renewable energy and sustainablanbilty. This can be seen in the rise of popularity of solar panels on the roofs of homes, in-home sustainable energy systems, as well as other green energy solutions.

Vancouver’s Renewal Energy Action Plan aims for 100% of our energy coming from renewable resources by 2050. And at MJR Electric, we are also doing our bit to contribute.
