CleanBC Go Electric rebates for homes and workplaces
BC Hydro works in collaboration with the Government of B.C. and FortisBC to supply funds and funds that companies, organizations, as well as private citizens have access to when it comes down to getting new electric powered vehicle charging stations installed in homes across British Columbia.
This program is part of the province’s CleanBC plan to make clean transportation more affordable and accessible for British Columbians. With this program, there* will be rebates for those of you who are eligible for up to $3800 towards buying or leasing a new plug-in vehicle. Visit Vancouver Electrician MJR Electric to learn more about the plan.
Eligibility Information about the CleanBC rebate program on the basis of your property
Single-family homes
As a homeowner who purchases and installs single-family or duplex/townhouse EV chargers, you are eligible to claim up to $350 in rebates of 50% of the purchase and installation costs.
Apartment and condo buildings
There are two provincial rebate options to help apartment and condo buildings get ready to support EVs.
1. EV Ready Rebates
You could apply for these rebates either by upgrading to an EV at once or one a time as your project progresses
2. Standalone EV charger rebate
EV charger rebate: A rebate of up to $2,000 per charger to purchase and install Level 2 networked EV chargers at your building’s residential parking spaces, to a maximum of $14,000.
Workplaces
Workplace organizations can get up to $2,000 per charger for the purchase of eligible Level 2 chargers that are networked on the BC Hydro grid. That’s a CleanBC rebate of up to $14,000 for four such chargers! However, one has to seek pre-approval from BC Hydro before purchasing and/or installing these chargers for use at the workplace.
